Hey Gang:

Its been so long since I have "touched base" with many of you, hope you and yours are blessed by our Lord! Life has been good for us, God has been leading and guiding us oh so tenderly over the last year and a half. We are so thankful for all the prayer and support we have received from the friends and pastors in our lives.

There have been lots of changes going on in our world lately. As some of you may know, I have always wanted to get back into ministry, but didn't want to rush things or try to "force" the hand of God. I didn't go around applying for jobs or sending out my resume all over the country. I wanted it to be a God thing in God's time. So I waited...and waited.

We have had several offers to pastor over the last year and a half, but none seemed right or we just were not ready. Then it happened. Within weeks of each other, two serious pastoral offers came in and they both seemed like they would be a good fit for our family. So now... what were we to do, it was time to decide. Well we just had to pray, think and receive godly council, and that's exactly what we did... trust me, lots of it.

One offer was on the Island and it would have been a blast to be a part of the church and their great team and be relatively close to home. The other offer was on the mainland at a Foursquare church. After much prayer and gut wrenching times of seeking God, we felt the Lord was leading us to the church on the mainland in Surrey.

Well it was time to move forward, so we went to an interview with the Pastors/Leaders of Bible Fellowship a few weeks ago. A few days later (seemed like a few months later, haha) the Senior Pastor from Surrey called. Well, he was the bearer of good news as he informed me of the results of the interview. There were about 16 church leaders in attendance at the interview and he received unanimous support in offering us the position of youth pastor at www.biblefellowship.ca . We gladly accepted the Surrey Youth Pastor position! Praise the Lord!

We will now actively be selling our home (any help in spreading the news of our House for Sale would be appreciated) and looking to buy in the East Newton area of South Surrey. I will start the transition in May by commuting a bit. We are believing that Jesus will cause us to be blessed and be a blessing in this new ministry calling for our family.

That's all for now, just wanted to say thanks again to many of you who have prayed for and encouraged us over the years. Your kindness will never be forgotten .

Hey Gang:

This Wed. we are taking BS to the theatre, that's right, we are gonna hit up Avalon Theatre @ 6:45 PM. We will be watching " AMAZING GRACE", you do not wanna miss this powerful story. It is based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce, is directed by Michael Apted (The World is Not Enough, Coal Miner's Daughter) from an original screenplay written by Academy Award® nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things). We will chill @mycrib.bc.ca afterwards for some discussion and snacks. Please bring something along aight?

We are heading to Camp this weekend, lemme know if your down. We may spark up some paintball some time over the Holiday weekend.

Long time no talk, hope all is well with you and yours. Life has been good, we have been doing a load of fun stuff with YA. The other weekend we Paintballed it up at Camp and I worked CMike like a rented mule @ hockey, lol. Then this last weekend I preached a Red Hot Sermon at www.ngate.ca . Look for the video on Youtube or www.danlal.com soon, haha! It was a blast chillin wit those cats over the weekend.

Hope your weekend was swell, mine was sweet. I took the family to the Mainland to visit family and friends at Bible Fellowship in Surrey. We had a chance to spend the day at Science World in Van and man that was sweet!

Our potluck was fun, thanks so much for all the food you brought. We busted out Settlers of Catan afterwards, Pheester got off her keester and almost won(beginners luck, I'm sure).

This week we are gonna take BS on the road to Courtenay! Klesis is a spectacular conference with services in the evening, we are planning on car-pooling up as a group on Wed. Feb21st. The weekend was fun @ camp: the dinner was aight, Church was great and my goal at hockey was spectacular,haha, kidding ghs.

Karina led a BS on Spiritual Warfare, she did a good job and the evening was very meaningful. This week we are having a VALENTINES POTLUCK. So we need you all to email me back to tell me what you are bringing. This is kinda last minute planning so help a brotha out and send me a txt or email please. We will need main courses and salads, cause Stu has the dessert covered (lets hope Cpark comes up large again with another cheese cake). Note the different time, Wed. 6:00PM @ my crib. After dinner, we will put our kids to bed then get into a lil study with some worship songs.

Good afternoon:

Wow, what a great Superbowl Game! I'm pretty sure I called a Colts win. We had a very successful BS last week, we decided that we want to continue on with a similar format as before. It was mentioned that we should do more social events, more on that below.

So here we go, we are back in the saddle this Wed. 7:30PM @ my crib for BS. Karina will be leading, so come prepared to receive a Word from the Lord. We need someone to bring some snacks, so please email me if you can hook us up.

We also need to decide on what we will be studying in the next several weeks, so bring your ideas. So about socials, we need to decide about Valentines Day on Feb.14th. We could do a potluck and a study on Love/Relationships etc or we could just cancel and give you a chance to spend some time with your sweetheart. So decide what you are gonna do that night and lemme know.

Klesis cometh, we are planning on going up as a group on Wed. Feb21st. Plan to come, it will be well worth the drive to Courtenay. Check out the site, www.ngate.ca

Good day Friend:

Its been awhile since I've emailed, its been a busy few weeks. I sure hope your New Year has been going great, ours sure has!

We haven't met as an official BS group in the New Year and I have really missed seeing many of you, so I hope life is good.

A number of you have asked about when we are starting BS up again, so we decided that we should all talk about it as a group. After all, it is your BS and I want you to have allot of input into the activities. So we will meet tomorrow (Wed. Jan.31) at my place at 7:30 PM. It won't be a regular BS but we will be discussing some very important issues that we need you to be a part of. So if you consider yourself a part of our BS and want to attend regularly or you plan on attending in some capacity, its crucial that you show up. If you can't make it you need to call me, so I can get your input. If there is not enough interest or feedback, we will simply discontinue BS indefinitely. Its definitely not something we want to do, but I need to be a good steward of the use of my time.

I really look forward to seeing you and/or hearing back from you about our BS. It sure has been a good run and I believe the Lord would have us keep it goin!

Hockey is Postponed tonight due to Exams, but hope to see you out next week.

Happy Boxing Day?

Hope you had a Very Merry Christmas, Tamara, the kids and I sure did. You shoulda seen em rippin that gift wrapping to shreds,lol.

Our New Years Party is upon us, and I need to confirm dinner and bowling reservations. So email me today to book your spot or you may be disappointed. Here is what the Rock is cookin...

We start at the Coast Bastion Inn with a semi-formal dinner (dress accordingly) at 6:00 PM (see below for Menu selection), after pictures its off to Karina's house for a quick wardrobe change and some fun & games. Next we hit up Splitsville for 10-pin Glow in the Dark Bowling. After that, we roll over to my crib for some snacks and drinks including a chocolate fondue. Then its time to countdown the last few seconds of 2007. Finally, we will party like its 1999, with all sorts of games and activities, for example:

Texas Hold 'Em, 4 on a Couch, Mafia, Mad Gab, 2 truths and a lie (jk), Cranium, Catch Phrase, Scattergories, Settlers of Catan, big screen video games like HANG TIME, Fuzion Frenzy & DDR and maybe even a game of 7-up. We plan on having a great time hanging out and having lots of fun, you do not wanna miss this DRY NEW YEARS CELEBRATION. It will be sin free and totally full of holy fun-ness!

Depending on what you order at the Coast, the evening will run about $25 for dinner and $10 for 2 games of bowling & shoe rentals. Plus we will need everyone to pitch in $5 for midnight snacks(chocolate fondue etc). So save ur coin and pay me ASAP, perhaps this Friday, see below. Either way please have the courtesy of emailing me and telling me whether you are coming or not, thanks much!

There is a Christian Coffee House (Daniels Den) taking place this Friday night 8:30 PM at the MGM RESTAURANT, it is free but I will be ordering either a dessert or dinner. You are welcome to join us to hear some great music and have a good ol time.

Good eveing gang:

Well well, what an amazing weekend man...woo hoo! It all started Sat. PM with the Oasis Hockey Team playing their hearts out. Sun we enjoyed church and a nice curry potluck meal thanks to Milky and Bon Voyage to my favourite Japanese Brotha from a different Motha(more on this coo cat lata). Sun night was time to bust out my skating skills at the ANNUAL OASIS CHURCH SK8. It was a blast seeing people having fun and falling up?!? Monday Night @ the Manafest Concert was fo sho the place to be in D-town! The concert was over the top, you shoulda seen Robbo in the mosh during Fridays Cry...i know what ur thinking...."I DIDN'T KNOOOOOOW, THAT ROBB WAS A HARDCORE MOSHER" Well I guess you will hafta check out the pics and vids on my MEDIA page soon for all the 411. And to top it all off, we play some Texas Hold 'EM with Manafest. Later that evening Naoaki wowed the crowd with a spectacular hand. He was droppin some H-core hammers on us, with his straight flush. Oh don't worry, we caught it on video as well (coming soon to a website near you).

BS on Wed. was awesome as well, we had our Christmas Potluck Dinner. Thanks so much for all u peeps for bringing all the good food,snacks and drinks. After Dinner, we did our Gift Exchange,where Stu ended up with some of the most beautiful candles I have ever seen. We finished off the night with some 4 on a Couch, where the girls dominated the boyz.(They musta been cheatin...) Tonight, if you didn't know already, there is NO BS until the New Year. We are taking a break to celebrate the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Speaking of New Years, I really need to hear from you right away about our Party. I need to make dinner and other activity reservations before everything is booked. So don't procrastinate...participate. If there are not enough people committed to coming we will scrap the plans by this weekend. Our night will be similar to what we did last year, with a fancy dinner, glow in the dark bowling, etc. Ask for details. So please email me by tomorrow or we may end up cancelling the whole thing.

Drop in Floor Hockey @ Woodlands is postponed till TUE. Jan 9. Come check it out, we had some crazy fans watching last time, so come and cheer us on and watch me beat Gareth like a rented mule.

Good day!

Hope ur weekend went well, we had a fun one. We spent the weekend up in Courtenay/Campbell River with Pastor Craig. It was good to visit with an old friend and enjoy God's beauty on this great Island. We even braved the cold wind and checked out Discovery Pier in CR, I felt like God rewarded us with a nice view of a huge Sea Lion swimming by.

BS went very well, it was a bit less formal than usual, but very beneficial. We all read Col. 3, while listening to some majestic Worship music. Afterwards, I led a study on the chapter with many jumping in with good comments and deep thoughts (not with Jack Handy though...)

++ NEWSFLASH ++ NEW TIME ::: BS continues this Wed. 6:00 PM @ my place, we'll be having a Gift Exchange (bring a wrapped gift worth at least $4.99 before tax ) and a Potluck Dinner. Please be on time as we wanna eat ASAP, plus I gotta feed my kiddies and get em to bed for school. We need everybody to bring their fair share of food to share. On the Sunday, there will be a Potluck after the service (be sure to bring some food along to share) and in the evening a FAMILY SK8 @ Lake Cowichan Arena (bring ur sk8s). Then a concert you kinda don't wanna miss, me and Josiah are gonna be bouncin and movin. Its Manafest on his nation-wide tour. Check this site for all the 411. Dec. 4 - YA UPDATE

Great morning!

Hey y'all, well it looks like this storm is over, did you praise Him thru it? What an eventful week it was eh, I mean wow, its not even winter yet. Hope you and yours remained warm and dry, and didn't need to be towed out of ur drive way!

BS was quite a bit different than usual, to say the least. With all the snow we weren't all able to make it, except for the guys with tanned necks and 4x4 Trucks (Say no to DODGE, haha, sorry Hailey,jk enter) So for those brave souls that made it, it was time for some winter fun. We did some hardcore 4x4ing @ Woodgrove and Dover, you shoulda seen me bumpin da tunes and doin some donuts. We had a blast with Robbo's Quad, he almost did a 360 turn with it too, haha!

BS continues this Wed. 7:30 PM @ my place, I am not sure what we will do WED. as we do not have a speaker lined up. I will likely jump in and do a devotion, but I am thinking JC wants to do a lil sumpin different. So come prepared for a lil change. Perhaps we will continue on with what God started the other week, like prayer/worship/sharing. We need somebody to snack it up...how about you? This is the last regular BS of the year, as the following Wed. we'll be having a Gift Exchange and some sort of Potluck. Email me some ideas yo. Good blizzardy morning!

Its beginning to feel allot like...well u know. I had a blast over the weekend, making forts, having snowball fights and doin some hardcore sliding. I'm actually warming up to the snowy weather! Remember, change is good!

BS was off da heeze last WED. It was a great time of testimony, prayer and worship. All of us shared about what was God was up to in our lives and what He did up @ Consumed . Many of us opened up and shared from our hearts about some deep stuff that was goin on in our lives. Please continue to pray for one another and offer support for each others struggles. We really need each other, more than ever! So thanks to all of you for sharing so openly and honestly, we really are family!

BS continues this Wed. 7:30 PM @ my place, I am not sure what we will do WED as we do not have a speaker lined up. Certainly I can jump in and do another gift, but I am thinking JC wants to do a lil sumpin different. So come prepared for a lil change. Good mornin Saints!

We had a fabulous weekend up in Courtenay at CONSUMED, it was jam packed with fun, excitement and frenziness. We watched the Lions beat down the ALS at a sweet Grey Cup Party, complete with an awesome quiz, wow, it was amazing...Oh ya, the food was oh da heeze...mmm...mmm, baron of beef! Sorry girls, hope shopping was fun.

God moved powerfully at the Conference and it was great to hang out with all you guys. Thanks for getting right into it and receiving what JC had for you! I am gonna try to get the CDs of the sessions, so stay tuned and lemme know if you wanna listen to em.

BS was spectacular on Wed, Amanda led her first study on the Gift of Discernment. We had good discussion and a moving time of prayer. Don't miss out this Wed. 7:30 @ my place, we are going to take a week offa Spiritual Gifts to give us a chance to reflect on what we learned at CONSUMED. Please come prepared to share a few minutes about how your weekend was and what God spoke to you. I am expecting y'all to share to get on it please. Good morning peeps:

Just wanted to give u some more 411 on CONSUMED for this weekend. Please pay and confirm if you haven't already, so we can sort out rides and registration IMMEDIATELY!

Below is a sked from the Conference, posted on the CONSUMED WEBSITE if you haven't seen it already.

Here are a few details that you need to be aware of:

- I (and possibly Janelle) leave at 5:30 PM from my place.

- You need to bring all your bedding (sleeping bag/pillow/foam) and personal toiletries

- I am bringing my heater cause who knows how cold the church will be...

- We are not staying at the dress up Church, we are staying at ELIM GOSPEL CHURCH in Downtown Courtenay

- After church(likely 2nd Service) on Sun, we'll likely all go for lunch before the Grey Cup.

- There is a Men's Ministry Grey Cup Party at 3PM at the church. Admission is free and includes a bunch of food. But you have to bring a salad or chips AND POP. Please don't forgot, bring extra bling and perhaps you can run to the store before the game. Sorry girls, but make the best of it, rumour has it there is a shopping trip in the works...

I sure am looking forward to this weekend, lets prepare our hearts for an encounter with the Holy Spirit (Ghost). It is going to be loads of fun, excitement and good GOD time, so I encourage you to make the best of it aight?

Consumed 2006: Relentless

Consumed 2006 "Relentless" is a high energy youth and young adult conference where you will be challenged to make a difference in your world. This years conference will be held November 17-19. The cost is a sweet deal at $35 before Nov 10 (held over) and $45 after Nov 10. Get your friends, your youth pastor and get to Consumed!

One of our speakers is Ira Parmenter.
Ira is the youth and young adults pastor of Colwood Pentecostal
Church in Victoria, BC where he lives with his talented and beautiful wife, Rochelle.
Ira's passion is to see young people fall in love with God, learn to hear from God, and be changed by the power of God so that they can live out their faith all day, everyday, for the rest of life.

Our worship band is 'fly sparrow fly' fronted by Luke Nielsen former lead singer of 'Venere'.

The investment includes snack Friday night, Pool time, and lunch as well as incredible times of worship, challenging messages and incredible feats of strength and dances. All for the low, low price of $35 (held over to November 10) and $45 after that. We can also arrange billeting at homes in our church and also at some local churches (place to sleep only). There are a limited number of spots and they are on a first registered first served basis!

Good mornin Crew!
We had a great weekend in Duncan, wow u sure missed all the fun fun! After a fabulous church service on Sunday we chilled at Stewbys for lunch and watched the Lions open up a can on the Green Riders. Stu's crib was so sweet too, like his HD quality TV and his 'new' Pleather couch. haha, "kidding" ghs. Its the real deal leather. Oops sorry Hakeem for stealin ur word dawg. Then it was off to Hockey Night in Cowichan, where we played an inter-squad game with the Oasis Crew. I wowed the crowd with my "skills that pay the bills". I wasn't really keeping track...but i tallied 2 goals and 3 assists thanks to Timbys generous goal tending debut.

BS has been nice and intimate lately, last Wed Karina led a great study on the Gift of the WORD OF WISDOM. Please join us if you can this Wed. 7:30 @ my place, when Amanda will be leading a study on the Gift of Discernment. I'm really looking forward to hearing Amanda lead for the first time, it will be dandy and I'm sure she will STICK IT. We need somebody to snack it up...will it be you?

Good day Saints!

Im kinda feelin like Noah a lil bit...haha! We had a good, cozy study at my crib in the fireside room. We studied the Gift of Working of Miracles. It was a great time discussing God's wonder working power! This Wed. 7:30 PM @ mycrib.ca Karina is leading BS, so come expecting to learn from God's Word and join in some fruitful discussion. We are heading down to Camp for the weekend this Sat, we are hoping to Settle Catan whilst down there. Hope u had a great weekend, I sure did, I was chillin with my family and playing some sports with my kiddies. We had a blast at the Bonfire as well, I wish they had more of those spinny, glowy, seizure starting fireballs...haha. A shout out to Karina and her family for puttin it on.

Last week at BS we continued our new series on SPIRITUAL GIFTS. I shared a more lengthy introduction on each gift, it was a very informative discussion on each gift. Thanks much to all who helped the study go so well. Props to Kdawg who made a beautiful birthday cake for Tamara. This Wed. 7:30 PM at my place we are continuing the study.Tamara will lead the study on the GIFT OF WORKING OF MIRACLES. Camp weekend was fun, we took in a class with Brandon on Sat. evening. Then Chad helped us Settle Catan, which I woulda easily won if people didn't chince me on the trades for rock! (Man something smelled....)

Last week at BS we started our new series on SPIRITUAL GIFTS. We filled out a Gift Discovery Test and had a real productive discussion and had a bit of an introduction to the new series.This Wed. 7:30 PM at my place we are continuing the study.Tamara has graciously accepted to lead the study on the GIFT OF WORKING OF MIRACLES, on her birthday to boot. Just got back last nite from Hockey Night in Cowichan, we had a blast watching the Oasis Crew play their hearts out.Twas neat cheering for peeps we know and hang out with like Double D, Matty, Jordan and the crew. If only Stewby was on the ice...

BS was great, was good to get back at er, and get er done. Thanks 2 Hakeem 4 droppin some good BS. He challenged us in our faith and asked some questions that provoked deep thought. The good Samiritan came up large with the doz. Bon voyage, mon amie! We are continuing with BS this Wed. 7:30PM @ my crib, we are going to start a new series on Spiritual Gifts that will last several weeks. We will be doing a Spiritual Gift Discovery Survey, so come prepared to learn more about urself. Please read I Cor. 12 before you come, see link below. So far we have Gareth, Amanda and Karina willing to lead a BS in this series, anybody else?

Happy Thanksgiving:

Wowsa wowsa, did we ever have a great week, yet again. We had an enjoyable dinner at the Keg and we had fun rollin thru downtown to Pirate Chips. Then it was off to Thanksgiving Camp the music was amazing and the speaker was phenomenal. We were encouraged to go for God with all we had, to step up and stand up 4 JC. I wanna continue with the theme of God's power and spiritual gifts...so stay tuned! I wanna get y'all involved with leading BS again allot, so please email me if can lead a BS some time in the near future.
